Christian Franzke is Senior Scientist and Lecturer at the University of Hamburg. He received his PhD in 2001 at University of Hamburg. He worked as a postdoc in the USA at Pennsylvania State University, Courant Institute at New York University and at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He was a Senior Scientist at the British Antarctic Survey, UK. His research interests include large-scale atmospheric dynamics, climate variability across scales, climate trends, weather and climate risks and the modeling of climate variability and of extreme events.
